Todd Cordell: Calgary Flames Sign Patrick Sieloff
- Todd-Cordell

Totally agree. No need to rush him in. The one I think can maybe challenge for spot will be Wotherspoon & I think another year under Ward in Abbey will do wonders for his transition to the show. We have a lot of players many of us are hoping will turn out coming next summer. Gaudreau, Arnold, Agostino, Seiloff, Wotherspoon, probably Monohan will be ready for fulltime NHL, all are guys that will be almost ready to crack the lineup. There's a reason Feaster isn't signing anything long term & or making many trades. Gonna be a tough year coming up

It will be a tough year, but it could be huge for them. Develop some kids and get another top pick to add another cornerstone piece. Better than pushing for the playoffs when they're not good enough and coming 10th.

Another year in junior wouldn't hurt. Flames should have a strong showing at the WJC. From watching Sieloff, what do you think he needs to work on most?

Yup! 1 more year of selling. Stajan, Cammi & Stempniak are all going to be UFA's at the end of this year & should give us some more decent picks & maybe a few prospects combined with at least another top 6 pick for the Flames, & then a decent foundation is about be built. They had an interview with Sven on the Fan 960 yesterday & asked him about Jankowski impressions from this last camp. He couldn't believe how much this guy grew & how big he was compared to the year before. Will be watching him closely next year, would love to see him crack that Canadian WJC team.

Cammi will be gone by the deadline for sure.I wouldn't mind stemp staying, but he will probably be gone at the deadline too.
I think Matty Franchise will be here for a while - pay cut.

It will be a big year for Jank. It would be sweet if Jank, monahan and poirier all played for canada.

Lets trade em for 2015 picks at draft. I'd like stemper to stay more then Hudler.

This is a big year for backland to.(actually for alot players - knight, jones, all the goalies).

I don't expect many wins, but if there's alot of heart out there it's a successful year.

30g for glenx, 20g for Baert and backland and I'm happy with the year

I agree, do not rush Seiloff or any other prospect for that matter. Seiloff will be in the line jp and crushjng Yakoflop soon enough. The new Regier/Hemskey battle.

At this point it's better to wait. we know we will most likely be a terrible team this season whether we have a bunch of kids or not. So why rush kids in on to a terrible team only to wind up in the same spot the season after with a bunch of confidence broken kids

Looks like we just resigned Bouma and Byron
don't mind having these guys play more this coming year....you're right, no need to rush the high value prospects too early
On the other hand, Byron and Bouma are the type of players that can probably be plugged in for now and just see how they do

Too small and doesn't have the skill or skating to compensate for it. Unlike a certain BC player...

Byron is an ahler. I'd rather see a few other wingers get opportunities before him. He's a smaller stajan at best

Bouma is a good utility player, and he could still turn into a Tom kostopolous light. But good plugs for now (both better then Aliu)

Is there any word on how the Saddledome repairs are progressing?

No pain, no gain. It sucks watching your team go through a rebuild but its a better long term strategy than just making the playoffs each year and not choosing at the top of the draft.

It appears, at least from a distance, that Feaster is making some solid moves by acquiring young players. I'm interested to see how Monohan does in camp. With the lockout I saw a good amount of 67's games this year and I will be watching to see how he does.

Good question. Anybody know?

And I hope he doesn't get injured.
